MAWIMBI is only 45 minutes away (heading south) from where the main M9 road crosses Kafue National Park.
MAWIMBI's central location lends itself to onward travel. Further south lies Lake Itezhi-Tezhi and Victoria Falls in Livingstone, OR head north into Kafue's Busanga Plains.

Kafue is alive with an incredible mix of wildlife and birdlife, thanks to its diverse range of habitats throughout this wonderful national park.
In the southern part of the park, vast open plains meet beautiful miombo woodlands and seasonal wetlands, home to roaming lions, leopard, and a rich variety of antelope – including sable, roan, bushbuck, puku, impala, reedbuck, and eland.
In the central region, the mighty Kafue River winds through lush riverine forest, offering a mix of river and land-based safari experiences. Head further north and you’ll reach the Busanga Plains – famous for its sweeping views and spectacular lion sightings.
