Prime location between the great Kafue River and a natural wetland
Game Drives, Walking Safaris and River Trips
Incredible wildlife sightings
If you only have time to visit one camp in the Kafue, then a visit to Mawimbi will not disappoint. Centrally located on the west banks of the Kafue River, Mawimbi’s location INSIDE the National Park gives you access to great wildlife encounters, exclusive bush camp accommodation and a wide range of safari activities. We always recommend safari lovers visit at least 2 or 3 camps when exploring the vastness of the Kafue but our mission at Mawimbi is to offer you as much of the Kafue experience from one stunning destination!
MAWIMBI is more than a safari…it’s a return to the authentic soul of Africa.
PRIME LOCATION
Open throughout the year, MAWIMBI is for the discerning traveller who’s looking for something different. It’s raw, untamed, and you’ll be privileged to see wildlife in the camp. With beautiful tented suites and an all inclusive package, you won’t want to leave!
EASY TRAVEL LOGISTICS
MAWIMBI is only 45 minutes away (heading south) from where the main M9 road cross Kafue National Park. It’s the perfect place to push down further in the Southern Kafue and onto Livingstone OR up Northwards to the Busanga Plains.
LAND & RIVER BASED ACTIVITIES
Together, we create an adventure-filled stay with a bespoke selection of actvities for you. From Game Drives and Walking Safaris to River Trips, it will be an unforgettable Safari experience.
There are so many new and diverse camps and regions within the Kafue that it can be daunting working out where to go and what to expect. Mawimbi gives you as much of the Kafue as possible from one location by offering the river based activities, an excellent diversity of wildlife and bird species and the classic bush camp accommodation the Kafue is so well known for.
“This is a perfect getaway for those needing to take a break from the city life and have a complete re-charge of ones batteries! Personally we love the bush and this camp fits all our expectations, from the camp itself to the canoeing on the river…hospitality and service very good!”
