MAWIMBI Schallow's turaco

We're proud to introduce MAWIMBI Bush Camp, an exclusive new safari lodge on the west bank of the great Kafue River, in the second largest park in Africa, Kafue National Park.

Still wild and undeveloped, MAWIMBI offers a deeply authentic wildlife experience in a very special conservation refuge.

Our camp is perfectly situated between the great Kafue River and a natural wetland. With access to the full 22,400 square km of pristine wilderness in Kafue National Park, home of over 150 mammal, 500 bird species and 100 reptile and aquatic species.

Unlike other bush camps which close during the Green season, MAWIMBI is open all year round to share this gem of a camp with you. when the rains bring relief from the heat, the bush replenishes and blooms, and the river surges ...

Stay in one of four beautiful tented suites, each with river frontage, en suite indoor bathroom, private deck with plunge pool / hot tub and an open-air shower.

Enjoy starlit sleep-outs, gourmet local cuisine by The SALT Road trained chefs, wildlife-rich game drives, walking safaris and river excursions with our expert guides.

MAWIMBI offers an intimate, wild and deeply restorative sanctuary, inviting you to switch off and recharge. Join us for an unforgettable safari adventure.

Kafue is alive with an incredible mix of wildlife and birdlife, thanks to its diverse range of habitats throughout this wonderful national park. In the southern part of the park, vast open plains meet beautiful miombo woodlands and seasonal wetlands, home to roaming lions, cheetahs, and a rich variety of antelope – including sable, roan, bushbuck, puku, impala, reedbuck, and eland.
